Estimating the apparent density of micro plastics in waters: insight from modelling

Synopsis

Based on vertical measurements and a 1DV simulation, I will show all the variability of the vertical distribution of microplastics and the difficulty of using measurement data in a model. I will take this opportunity to give a methodology to find the apparent density of microplastics and I will explain this concept. If I have time left, I will present the impact of such variability during simulations on a regional scale (scale of the Bay of Marseilles, article in progress).
