Colombini Gabin

I am a soil scientist, interested in the effect of anthropogenic soil organic matter on the functioning of terrestrial ecosystems. I am particularly working on microplastic pollution in terrestrial systems in the Global South. The aims of my work are the developpement of analytical methods to identify and quantify microplastics in complex matrices (soils, composts...) and assessing the transfer of microplastics from soil to other ecosystems. As a member of the Scientists’ Coalition for an Effective Plastic Treaty, I worked to communicate scientific knowledge related to soil microplastic pollution to policymakers.
